In an act of profound spiritual fervor, the Diocese of San Pedro de Macorís and the National Commission United by Altagracia celebrated the Solemn Dedication Eucharist of the Sanctuary María de la Altagracia in the historic community of Hoyoncito. This event took place within the Marian Triduum, a period in which the ecclesiastical community strengthens its faith through meditation on the mysteries of the Virgin Mary prior to the national festivity. The Sanctuary María de la Altagracia highlights the historical value of Hoyoncito, a site where Catholic tradition places the delivery of the original image of the virgin over five hundred years ago.
